A wildly intelligent narrative about pathetic characters that oscillates in the thin line between irony and empathy without the audience noticing.

该影片主要讲述的是：留守儿童王安全、王安心兄妹俩和爷爷一起生活在西部的大山里，家里唯一的一头老牛是兄妹俩感情的寄托。因为爷爷答应他们等老牛产牛犊卖钱后，就让兄妹俩去看望远出打工的父母。然而，突如其来的变故，为了救治打工中意外受伤的儿子，爷爷只好无奈的将老牛卖掉。从此，不知真相的兄妹俩踏上了漫漫的寻牛路。
